GLEN ROCK, N.J. — A veteran television actor is providing aspiring performers with an opportunity to strike it big with Actors Technique New York in Glen Rock.
Todd Etelson's New York City-based company opened at 175 Rock Road in September.
Participants will showcase their work during the final class in front of several New York City television agents, managers and casting directors, founder and owner Etelson said.
“You can’t turn on the TV without seeing some of our kids in shows, films and commercials,” said Etelson, who transitioned to acting on programs such as HBO's "Oz" after working for Dick Clark in Los Angeles.
“We’re a professional school open to kids with representations who want to do this professionally or kids who want to try it to see if it’s something they want to do,” he said.
ATNY has helped children land roles on Netflix’s “Orange is the New Black,” Nickelodeon’s “Sam and Cat,” and alongside actors including Robert DeNiro, Julianne Moore and Meryl Streep, among others.
The classes will be a great opportunity for local children to get credible camera, television and film acting training in their neighborhood, Etelson said.
“We talk about moving from stage to TV and go over commercials, monologues, comedy scripts, drama scripts and improvisation,” Etelson said.
