A group of Glen Rock runners are raising money for Ellen DeGeneres' gorilla wildlife fund with a bake sale next month.
The Clara E. Coleman School's Girls on the Run team chose the foundation for their community service project this year.
The talkshow host was surprised on the air for her 60th birthday in February with the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, a gift from wife Portia De Rossi.
The campus will be a permanent, specially designed facility for scientists helping to save the 880 gorillas in Rwanda and neighboring countries.
Last year, Coleman's Girls on the Run team raised nearly $1,000 for Eva's Village in Paterson.
The bake sale will begin at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, May 11, outside of the Coleman School.
