GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- Mayor Bruce Packer and the Borough of Glen Rock are inviting the public to join in a remembrance of the Orlando shooting victims, in front of Borough Hall, at One Harding Plaza, on Saturday, June 18.
The event is "to remember the 49 men and women who were viciously killed in Orlando a few days ago," organizers note.
We will stand together to show that we are united with Orlando in the aftermath of this horrible massacre and that we support the strong and welcome LGBTQ community right here in our town. Glen Rock is a loving and welcoming community and we hope that you will join us in sharing this message.
Participants will also read out the names of the 49 victims, and any interested resident is welcome to read at least one name. The remembrance will begin at 2 p.m.
Glen Rock's All Saints Episcopal Church held a vigil on Wednesday night. More than 60 attended, including leaders from various religions. See photos and read about it here.
