LEONIA, N.J. -- The Leonia United Methodist Church is hosting a party Saturday, March 12 for all those interested in having some fun while at the same time helping support local nonprofit organizations that give aid to the neediest and the poorest among us.
These organizations include CUMAC, a major food pantry in Paterson; Oelhaf House which cares for women victims of domestic violence; a Future with Hope, which focuses on rebuilding in New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy; and CoFiA, which serves day laborers in Palisades Park.
This evening of fun will include finger food and dessert, a silent auction and entertainment by the combined singing talents of the Foggy Minded Boys and the Foggettes, who specialize in “tight harmony, blue grass… and family friendly comedy.”
The festivities will begin at the church at 6 p.m. and should be concluded by 9 p.m. John Stott, a longtime member of the church is unabashedly excited about this event.
“It’s going to be great. I’ve heard the Foggy Minded Boys sing and they are terrific," Stott said. "Also, lots of potential bargains with the silent auction. And all the money raised by the event is going straight to these worthy charities. You just can’t beat this.”
The suggest donation is $25 per person or $50 per family. For additional information, call the church at (201) 944-2970.
The Leonia United Methodist Church is at 396 Broad Ave., Leonia.
