"When I saw what happened to Lucciano it ripped my heart out," Leider told Daily Voice.
"I had to do something to make this kid feel better."
Leider, who founded the Let Them Be Little X2 Foundation in honor of his two sick boys Jason and Justin, is making 4-year-old Lucciano DiMarco the honorary guest at this Sunday's motorcycle run.
Lucciano will be riding in a police car among the 300 motorcycle who for the fourth year will be taking local highways by storm to raise money for Leider's foundation, which will donate the funds to four other sick children's families to help offset medical bills.
"I walk the shoes of many parents out there," he said. "When I saw the video of this little boy, it touched me in such a way because I've been there."
Jason and Justin Leider are battling Hunter syndrome, a rare genetic disease, and participating in a clinical trial where they receive special enzymes to help them survive.
The Let Them Be Little X2 Foundation helps children fighting 9,000 rare diseases, of which Leider said there are more than 9,000 of.
Leider says he simply hopes special guest Lucciano — who will be sent home with dozens of new toys — will be smiling on Sunday.
