FAIR LAWN, N.J. — It's hard to miss the DeSomma family's Fair Lawn Christmas display on Vanore Drive.

But can you spot the new addition?

Hopefully you said yes, because dad Marc DeSomma has been working tirelessly on the pixelated tree located on the left side of the yard since he got it over the summer.

He says it's the future of Christmas on Vanore.

"This is our transition year," said DeSomma, who started decorating his house in 2012.

He's hoping that next year, he'll be able to replace the 27,000 standard Christmas lights on arches, fences and strands across the rooftop with pixels.

The pixel tree can play any picture or design you want it too, which DeSomma says allows him to be more creative, "because you can manipulate it any way you want."

DeSomma receives help from daughter Mia, 10, and wife Paula each year setting up and designing the display.

"He puts so much into it," Paula said. "He wants everyone to see something new and exciting every year."

Dozens of cars have been stopping by since Dec. 1, as they do every year.

The DeSomma's are hoping that viewers will drop a donation into the box outside of their house for this year's Santa Boone recipient (a family in need to receive a surprise outpouring of gifts and visitors arriving in fire trucks and police cars, culminating in a party at the DeSomma's).

The display runs from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly on Vanore Drive.
