FAIR LAWN, N.J. — A house with more than 19,000 lights synchronized to holiday classics, Frank Sinatra and the Ramones, won an nj.com reader poll for the best holiday lights in the state, reports nj.com.
"Christmas on Vanore," at 38-53 Vanore Drive in Fair Lawn won for having the best seasonal light display, nj.com said.
Marc DeSomma, the display’s creator, garnered 36 percent, or 5,232 votes of 14,536 votes cast in the poll, according to nj.com.
DeSomma — a home improvement contractor — told the Daily Voice in a previous article he spends roughly 600 hours a year programming the lights to work with the songs on his computer. He spends another 60 hours in the fall setting up the display.
This year, DeSomma added a radio broadcast that allows people to tune into the light show from inside their car. He had said on the Friday or Saturday night leading up to Christmas there are 20-25 cars outside their house.
"There are people dancing and children playing. It is amazing," he said.
