GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- The following is a message from Glen Rock Mayor Elect, Bruce Packer:
As we continue through the transition, the 2015 council has allowed Kristine Morieko, Skip Huisking and I to be included in all meetings and have been helping to alleviate the inevitable learning curve.
An additional role of the mayor is to serve on the planning board, and I have been attending those meetings recently and have been offered support and guidance there, as well.
I have started meeting with some of our department heads and, again, can't state strongly enough how much I appreciate the support and patience of all to whom I have spoken.
Most of us don't realize how many people are working so very hard to make our town what it is.
On another note, I want to jump back to when this all started and thank Mark McCullough who started my journey via a simple question back in March 2015, "Are you interested in running for mayor?" After many conversations with people that are close to me, I have not looked back since making the decision to move forward.
McCullough always was there during the course of the campaign to share his knowledge and wealth of experience when it comes to Glen Rock. He gave countless hours, and his love for the town is unquestionable.
