Kyle is a U.S. Army veteran. Steve is a Class 1 police officer and Rescue Squad member in town and Jackie is a preschool teacher.

The family lost just about everything.

Here's how you can help:

  • GoFundMe: More than $18,000 had been raised for the family as of Wednesday morning.
  • Meal Train: Dates are still available through the end of February.
  • Dinner at the Dutch House: On Sunday. Feb. 18, dining at the Dutch House will aid the family. Pay $40 between 3 and 9 p.m. for drinks and food. The fire department and rescue squad will be running a 50/50 raffle throughout the night.

On Saturday, a fire broke out in the family's Pomona Avenue basement and quickly spread to the first floor.

The blaze was brought under control after about 90 minutes, Police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. But much of the house was destroyed.

"The cause of the fire has been undetermined but is not considered suspicious," Metzler said.
