FAIR LAWN, N.J. — After months of fundraising, one Fair Lawn girl with special needs finally received a new van on Friday.
Makayla, who suffers from microcephaly, cerebral palsy, seizure activities and optic dysphasia, rolled her wheelchair into her handicap-accessible, red Toyota minivan.
The vehicle was donated by Fair Lawn Mayor John Cosgrove, United Real Estate North Jersey and Kuiken Brothers.
"So blessed to live in Fair Lawn where a community unites to make my dream come true," Makayla and her family wrote on her Facaebook page.
