Fair Lawn Rescuer Commits To Displaced Dogs Following Hurricane

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Dozens of animals were displaced after Hurricane Matthew hit North Carolina — and Fair Lawn's Steve Quilliam has a job to do.

The Grateful Doggies Freedom Transport owner will head down south this weekend and next to rescue some of the pups looking for homes.

"You can't even fathom the depth of the crisis in North Carolina right now," he said. "The eastern side is an absolute mess and there are dogs stuck all over the place. 

"So many left to find higher ground with owners not even looking."
