Glen Rock officials held an informational session Tuesday morning to guide residents through how to use the site.

Pam Briggs, former councilwoman, said Glen Rock offers plenty of advantages for seniors, but it was important to highlight them all.

"Part of it was to put this all in one place," Briggs said in front of an audience of about 20 people Tuesday.

Coordinating the section of the site turned out to be a labor of love for Briggs. She saw the need for visibility of senior services through her own family and neighbors, and noted that people who recently moved to Glen Rock may not know about all of the opportunities.

Some of the services provided for seniors include housing and transportation, an advisory committee and health and safety programs. A brochure for each was handed out Tuesday at the Municipal Building, but Briggs noted that the information can change going forward, leading to another advantage of the web.

The senior services section of the borough website lists housing options at the top, as Briggs said it is often a "key thing" for people. It then lists the other services plus state and county information as well.

Glen Rock Mayor John van Keuren thanked Briggs for her work and praised the new addition to the borough's online presence.

"It's comprehensive, it's packed with information and it's easily accessible," van Keuren said. "Who could ask for more?"
