FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Anna Marie Majka, a lifelong resident of Fair Lawn, died on Saturday, April 2. She was 94.
Born in Paterson, Majka was a faithful parishioner of St. Catharine Church in Glen Rock. She was a founding member of its travel club and a member of the Catholic Youth Organization. She was an avid traveler.
Prior to retiring, she worked for Crompton-Knowles in Fair Lawn for many years. "Anna Marie will be remembered best for her devotion to her family and friends especially her grandchildren," according to information provided by the funeral home.
Majka is survived by her children, Joyce Hoffman, Barbara Bartos, Arlene Kasper and Kevin Majka; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Majka.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Rd., in Fair Lawn. A funeral mass is will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Catharine Church, 905 South Maple Ave., in Glen Rock. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, in Paterson.
