FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Cynthia A. Stephenson, of Fair Lawn, died on Wednesday, Dec. 14. She was 91.
Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, she immigrated to the U.S. in 1977 settling in New York City before moving to New Jersey in 1985. She was a member of Waldwick United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, music, dancing and especially spending time with family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar Stephenson.
She is survived by her children, Julia Stephenson, Charmaine McLeod, Edgar Stephenson, Jr., Colin Stephenson and wife Karyn, the late Ronald Stephenson and surviving wife Valerie and the late Tony Greene; siblings, Hilary Cunha and the late Wesley Ramsay, Gladys Mowatt, May Binns and Sybil Watson; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday 6-9 p.m. at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, Dec. 21, 11 a.m. at Waldwick United Methodist Church, 25 Franklin Turnpike, Waldwick. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Waldwick United Methodist Church.
