Louis Abbruzzese, 93, Of Fair Lawn

FAIR LAWN, N.J. – Louis Abbruzzese, of Fair Lawn, died Thursday, Jan. 28. He was 93.

Abbruzzese was born in New York City, living in the Bronx before moving to Fair Lawn.

He served in the 101st Airborne Division during World War II and received the Bronze Star, working for the U.S. Postal Service in Fair Lawn until retiring in 1980.

Abbruzzese was predeceased by his daughter Angela Santana.

He is survived by his wife Rose (nee Yacino); son Edward and his wife Jane, son James and his wife Michelle; son-in-law Richard Santana; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours are from 3-7 p.m. Sunday  at the Patrick J. Conte Funeral Home, 274 Market St., Elmwood Park, with a funeral service at 8:30 a.m. Monday. A funeral Mass will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anne’s R.C. Church in Fair Lawn.

Interment will follow at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are welcomed for the St. Anne’s Catholic War Veterans Post #1076.
