FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Margaret Croal Noethen, 98, of Fair Lawn, died Thursday, Sept. 15. She was 98.
She was born and raised in Paterson, and she resided in Fair Lawn for 68 years.
A faithful parishioner of St. Anne R.C. Church, she was a member and past president of the Rosary Society. An involved member of her community, she was a den mother with the Boy Scouts of America and an advocate of the March of Dimes, where she volunteered as a leader of the local chapter. Prior to retiring, she was a sales associate with Macy’s in Paramus for 27 years.
She was predeceased by her husband; Ernest C. Noethen Jr.; and her son, Ernest Noethen III.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Mecionis Spohn, Peggyann Palen, Kristine Banks; sisters, Marie Martello and Elaine Croal; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. A funeral Mass is planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anne R.C. Church, 15-05 St. Anne St., Fair Lawn. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
