Shirley Mae Scheulen, 84, Longtime Fair Lawn Resident

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Shirley Mae Scheulen, a longtime resident of Fair Lawn, died on Saturday, Jan. 28. She was 84.

Born and raised in Mountain View, Scheulen lived in Fair Lawn for more than 60 years. "A faithful member of the Fair Lawn Bible Church, she was a Sunday school teacher, member of the White Cross and did extensive missionary work," information from the funeral home noted.

She also enjoyed arts and crafts.

Scheulen is survived by her children, Robert Scheulen and Nancy Lynch; grandchildren Jason and Joseph Bove, and Kate Scheulen; nephews Ronald Snelso and Andrew McDonald; and niece Judy Bloedorn. 

She was preceded by her sisters, Eva Mae Solimene, Viola Snelson and Josephine McDonald. 

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Rd., in Fair Lawn. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow, at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
