Emergency crews rush to Bergen home struck by explosive device

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: An explosive device ignited at a Fair Lawn house shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, bringing response from the county bomb squad, the fire department, EMS and a team of arson investigators, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned. No injuries have been reported as of just before midnight.

UPDATE: YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A search is under way for whoever tossed a pipe bomb filled with nails that broke through the walls of three Fair Lawn homes, caused other damage and terrified residents, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said today. He wouldn’t confirm it, but a source with direct knowledge of the incident told CLIFFVIEW PILOT investigators believe the house was targeted. CLICK HERE….

The initial report was of shots fired.

However, it was later “confirmed that there was an explosion from some sort of device, which may have been thrown at or thrown into the home,” a source with direct knowledge of the situation told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“The crime scene is still active and the exact circumstances are still being determined,” the source said.

A separate source with knowledge of the incident confirmed the account.
