YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A Mahwah police officer and another driver were examined and cleared at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood after a crash just off Route 287 this morning.
Both the police car and other vehicle had to be towed after the collision, just after 7 a.m., near the Routes 287/17 fly-over.
Officer Michael Connington was responding to a call of another crash when his cruiser hit a patch of ice, went into a slide and hit a 2005 Toyota driver by a Fair Lawn woman who had pulled to the side after seeing the police lights and hearing the sirens, Mahwah Police Chief James Batelli told CLIFFVIEW PILOT .
Batelli said there were several incidents along that stretch of state roadway during the icy morning.
