Severe Injuries For Victim, 69, In Fair Lawn Pedestrian Crash

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- A 69-year-old Fair Lawn man was taken by police escort Tuesday morning to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson with severe injuries after he was struck by a van, police told Daily Voice.

The 33-year-old male driver from Elmwood Park received a summons for failing to yield.

He was trying to make a right in his 2006 Ford F-350 onto Fair Lawn Avenue from Orchard Street near Route 208 when the crash occurred at 8:18 a.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said.

The victim, who'd sustained serious head and internal injuries, was unresponsive but breathing,  responders told Daily Voice.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence.
