The victim was beginning to cross Rock Road just before 7:30 p.m. when a vehicle driven by a 73-year-old Wayne man turned left from Ackerman Avenue and hit him, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.

He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries that the chief said weren't life-threatening.

"Low light conditions and dark clothing are believed to have been contributing factor," Ackermann said just after midnight. "No witnesses have been identified as of this time and so summonses have been issued."

Four hours earlier, two Glen Rock youngsters were hit by cars two minutes and roughly six blocks apart -- and a little over a half-mile each from where the man was later struck.
