The brake fire ignited shortly before 3 p.m. in front of Home Goods -- between Ridgewood Avenue and A&S Drive -- and was compounded a short time later by a vehicle that had broken down in the fast lane, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg told Daily Voice.
No one was injured, Ehrenberg said.
