GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- A 52-year-old Wayne woman stepped in front of a New Jersey Transit train and was killed this morning.
Responders said Svetlana Zabolotski's four-door Volvo was found in the rear of a grocery wholesaler on Broad Street after she was struck by the Waldwick-bound No. 1857 train out of Hoboken around 8 a.m. She was pronounced dead about a half-hour later.
Service was suspended between Secaucus and Ridgewood, NJ Transit's Jennifer Nelson said.
There were 13 passengers and three crew members aboard, she said. The passengers were picked up by NJ Transit buses.
