GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- As a service to the voters of Glen Rock, the League of Women Voters is sponsoring a "Candidates Night" for those running for borough council and school board.

The “Candidates Night” forum will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20 in the chambers of the municipal building at Harding Plaza.

The league will have two candidate forums, the first of which will be for Glen Rock Borough Council and the second for the Glen Rock Board of Education.

The council has two seats open and four candidates running -- incumbent Michael O'Hagen (R), William Leonard Jr. (R), Kristin Bond (D) and William Sonzogni (D).

The board of education has three seats open and four candidates running -- incumbents Sheldon Hirschberg, Carlo Cella III and Sanjiv Ori and newcomer William Brennan.

The moderator for both forums will be Anne Wolfe, a resident of Mahwah. The forums will be televised live on Glen Rock TV and FIOS.

The purpose of the league is to promote political responsibility through informed and active participation in government.
