Former Fair Lawn Mayor Honored On 100th Birthday

FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Mary Burdick, former mayor of Fair Lawn, was recently honored on her 100th birthday -- by two other former mayors and current Fair Lawn Mayor John Cosgrove.

Over 50 friends and relatives attended the birthday celebration, held at Cedar Crest in Pompton Lakes, where she currently lives.

Former mayors Marty Etler and Bob Gordon -- now a state senator -- and current Mayor Cosgrove were joined by several members of the League of Woman Voters.

Burdick thanked all who came and spoke of how much she enjoyed serving the people of Fair Lawn while she was mayor, and also while serving on the Board of Education. She also spoke fondly of her involvement in the League and the vital information it provides to the community.
