GLEN ROCK, N.J. — The deadline for the Glen Rock Board of Education to replace a member who resigned in early October is fast approaching.

Residents can apply for the spot formerly held by Robin Rubinstein by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20. The term would extend through January 2017.Rubenstein, who joined the board in April 2011 and was re-elected to a three-year term in November 2014, resigned on Oct. 5, citing personal reasons.

“Robin has been a valuable and dedicated member of our board," BOE President Rona McNabola said. "Her ability to ask the important questions and make the hard decisions while focusing on what is most important to a school district — the students — will be missed by all.”

The board will interview qualified candidates the week of Nov. 9.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 18 years old, a resident of Glen Rock for at least a year, a registered voter, and able to read and write.
