GLEN ROCK, N.J. — Glen Rock's Academy of Our Lady's robotics team earned the top spot in a qualifying competition held at Liberty Science Center Saturday.
The team of students in sixth to eighth grade won awards in robot design and performance.
The Glen Rock team was the highest scoring batch of rookies at the event.
Academy of Our Lady will represent Liberty Science Center in the state championship the weekend of Dec. 12 and 13.
Peter Hamilton and Tim O'Brien served as parent coaches and Doris Treuer worked as a teacher moderator.
The robotics team is part of the school's science, technology, engineering and math program.
