Glen Rock Hockey Offering Youth Street, Ice Schedules

GLEN ROCK, N.J.– It's signup time for Glen Rock Hockey and sessions are forming for all skill levels.

The Glen Rock Hockey Association has the following levels of play:

  • Glen Rock Roller Street Hockey for K through 2nd graders (ages 5+). This program will introduce children to the basics of the game of hockey.
  • Glen Rock ATOMS beginner hockey clinic for players born in 2010/11 and younger (or beginners up to age 8). This beginner program gives young players an opportunity to learn the sport of ice hockey in a supervised and developmental atmosphere. It is intended for the young beginner player who wants to start to learn ice hockey. The program will be a clinic-style, focusing on skill development.
  • Glen Rock MITES development program for players born in 2008/09. This program will consist of 10 on-ice sessions, clinics, cross ice games and two tournaments

The Street Hockey schedule is Sunday mornings from 9-10:15 a.m. on Sept. 18, 25; and Oct. 2, 9, 16 at the Roller Rink in Memorial Park in Glen Rock.

Necessary equipment includes ice hockey helmet with cage, hockey style in-line skates (optional), hockey gloves, hockey jersey, shin guards, elbow pads and stick.

The Atoms schedule is 10 Sunday mornings from 7:45-8:45 a.m. on Oct. 23, 30; Nov. 6, 20; Dec. 4, 11, 18; Jan. 8, 22, 29 at the Ice House in Hackensack.

Price is $100 for 10 sessions. Necessary equipment includes ice hockey helmet with cage, sharpened skates (you cannot rent them), hockey jersey, hockey pants, gloves, shin guards, elbow pads, chest protector and stick.
