Coach and Smoothie King owner Denise Cinque MacDonald donated 100 smoothies, which sold within 15 minutes for $3 per drink.
Afterward, the team got to meet the brains behind the Glen Rock Dog Park — Glen Rock High School junior Michelle Hillock along with her mother and GRDP president, Eileen Hillock.
Just less than $10,000 has already been raised for the dog park but $75,000 is needed to break ground in the fall, the elder Hillock said. The majority of the funds will go toward a fence costing $45,000.
The young runners got to see the blue print for the project, asked questions and received complementary bandanas from the Hillocks.
Some girls asked for autographs and others pitched suggestions, like a first aid stand for injured animals.
Local businesses will be running fundraisers throughout the month in honor of "May Madness," a philanthropic initiative launched by Hillock for the GRDP.
