FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Carol Van Den Henden, of Fair Lawn, died Nov. 7. She was 79.
She was born April 11, 1937, in Paterson and has lived in Fair Lawn the past 50 years. Prior to her retirement, she was a bookkeeper for Lazzara’s Bakery in Paterson. A member of Headliners Bowling League in Fair Lawn and the Woman’s Bowling Association “500 Club,” she served as league secretary to both. She was active as a speed skater “Mom” when her children were growing up.
She was predeceased by her husband, Maurice F. Van Den Henden.
She is survived by her children, Donna Peterson, the late Robert Van Den Henden and his surviving wife Robyn, Linda Van Den Henden and Steven Van Den Henden and his wife Gina; grandchildren, Matthew, Kara, Eric, Carrie, Andrew, Bryan, Connor and Daniella; and siblings, Barbara Johnson and her husband Robert, Ruth Zollo and her husband Vincent, Kenneth Emmetts and his wife Rita and the late Robert Emmetts and his surviving wife Eleanor.
The family will receive family and friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Vander Plaat-Vermeulen Memorial Home, 530 High Mountain Road, Franklin Lakes. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
