FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Fair Lawn resident Dennis Quinn died Tuesday, May 31. He was 66.
Quinn moved to Fair Lawn in 1983 and worked as a letter carrier in East Meadow, N.Y., Butler and Clifton.
In 1987, he was elected union representative for the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 38 where he served as a branch officer and mediator for 16 years.
A knee injury forced him to retire and he returned to school to earn bachelor and master degrees in psychology and counseling from Caldwell University.
He worked as a drug counselor, helping those struggling with addiction.
Quinn is survived by his two sons, Brian and Timothy; former spouse, Nancy Owen; mother, Eileen; siblings, Noreen Kelly, Kenneth Quinn, Mary Quinn, Patrick Quinn and Kathleen Titone; many nephews and nieces; and godsons, Paul and Ian.
Quinn was predeceased by his father, Patrick Quinn.
The family will have a wake from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Vander-Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn.
A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Saint Anne's Church, 15-05 St. Anne St., Fair Lawn.
