Fair Lawn Dad Remembered As Fun-Loving Professional

FAIR LAWN, N.J. — Dmytro Zaslavskyy, 48, of Fair Lawn, died on Aug. 18 after a two-year battle with kidney cancer.

 Born and raised in Ukraine, Zaslavskyy immigrated to the United States in 2001, first in New York before moving to Fair Lawn in 2005. 

 In 1993, Zaslavskyy earned a Master’s Degree in engineering from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the Ukraine. He was an accomplished oil painter and art history buff and enjoyed traveling and time spent with family and friends.

Zaslavskyy was a manager with Dish Network in Roseland, and is remembered by his colleagues as a fun-loving, caring and dedicated professional who inspired all around him.

He is survived by his wife, Marina Zaslavskaya; his son, Andrew, his sister, Natalia Kapkaeva; and sister-in-law, Natella Natanson.

Services were handled by Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home.
