FAIR LAWN, N.J. – John Joseph Gellatly, 66, a longtime resident of Fair Lawn, died Thursday, Oct. 29.
A U.S. Army veteran, he proudly served during the Vietnam War. Gellatly was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church and the Fair Lawn Athletic Club. An avid New York Giants fan, he enjoyed deep sea fishing, boating, cars and reminiscing about his Army days. Prior to retiring in 2012, he was a service adviser with Mercedes Benz in Paramus for six years and previously was employed in the maintenance department of Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus.
He is survived by his children, Jonathan and Lindsay Gellatly; a sister; a former spouse; and two nephews.
