FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- Marie "Joan" (Morrisroe) Walsh, a longtime Fair Lawn resident, died on Thursday, May 26. She was 86.
Born and raised in Jersey City, Walsh lived in Fair Lawn for 57 years. She was a parishioner of St. Anne Church, in Fair Lawn. An avid traveler, she enjoyed playing golf, tennis and bridge. "Many of her happiest days were spent at her lake house in New Hampshire, surrounded by her family and friends," information from the funeral home noted.
She is survived by her children, John Walsh and his wife Georgetta, David Walsh and his wife Margaret, Lynne Oetting and her husband Richard, and daughter-in-law Maryann; grandchildren Elizabeth Piombino, Kerri Oetting, and Robert, Luke, Jay and Matthew Walsh; great-grandchildren Lily and Sophie; and sister Dorothy Morrisroe.
Walsh was predeceased by her husband, John Walsh; son Robert Walsh; and brothers Robert and David Morrisroe.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, May 27, at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Rd., in Fair Lawn. A funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Anne Church, 15-05 St. Anne St., in Fair Lawn. Interment will follow, at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
