GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- Robert J. Dour, 93, of Glen Rock, died Saturday, Oct. 15.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, he resided in Fair Lawn for many years before moving to Glen Rock 10 years ago.
A faithful and active parishioner of St. Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock, he served as a lector, altar server and was a member and past president of the Association of Mature Parishioners.
An avid reader, he enjoyed traveling, crossword puzzles and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loyal New York Mets fan.
Prior to retiring, he was employed as a chartering specialist with P&O Shipping in New York City for 26 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine “Kate” (Burke) Dour.
He is survived by his children, Robert Dour Jr. and wife Linda, Michael Dour and wife Krysia, Christopher Dour and wife Cynthia and Daniel Dour and wife Ellen; brother, Paul Dour; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Vander Plaat-Caggiano Funeral Home, 13-31 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn. A funeral Mass is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Catharine R.C. Church, 905 S. Maple Avenue, Glen Rock. Interment will follow at Christ the King Cemetery in Franklin Lakes.
