Officer Geovanny Buitron stopped their car on the northbound highway near Harristown Road earlier this month, Sgt. Brian Metzler told Daily Voice.

He arrested the driver, 25-year-old Donald Ostrom of Port Jervis and three passengers -- Michael Otero, 27, of Haledon; Patrick Shevlin, 27, also of Port Jervis, and 28-year-old Joseph Mann of Middletown -- after a search turned up the drugs, Metzler said.

Otero, Ostrom and Shevlin were released pending a hearing on  possession charges, the sergeant said.

Mann, however, had warrants out of Hackensack, Hawthorne and Mahwah, Metzler said.

He was charged with drug possession and turned over to Mahwah police.
