FAIR LAWN, N.J. — More than 10 dogs found new homes at the Fair Lawn Fire Company No. 2's inaugural pet adoption.

Chief Kirk Walthouse launched the adoption this season as part of the company's annual Holiday Vendor Sale.with help from longtime friend and Grateful Doggies Transporting owner Steve Quilliam.

"We thought this would be a good time that we could support ourselves and other nonprofits," Walthouse told Daily Voice.

Several dogs and cats received pledges from people looking to adopt.
