Fair Lawn school chief nixes pep rally, students cite pressure not to talk

EXCLUSIVE CLIFFVIEW PILOT REPORT: Fair Lawn High School students and their parents are in an uproar over the cancellation of the annual pre-Thanksgiving pep rally, and what they said is pressure by administrators not to make an issue of it, CLIFFVIEW PILOT has learned.

Several undaunted students have circulated a letter of protest, as well as a petition, said the parent, whose daughter is a senior at the school.

“While the potential actions were not spelled out, seniors in particular have felt threatened,” the parent told CLIFFVIEW PILOT. “This is when they are preparing their college applications and need support for references, transcripts, etc.”
