GLEN ROCK, N.J. -- A 15-year-old Glen Rock High School student was caught on school grounds with LSD, police said.
Acting on "information and evidence" provided by school officials, Detective Mike Trover took the boy into custody and seized the "acid" on Friday, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
Police issued a juvenile complaint for drug charges that will be heard in the Family Part of Superior Court in Hackensack, he said.
Heroin has dominated news accounts in recent years, with suburbanites of varying ages overdosing or being arrested.
Some say LSD poses a threat of its own.
"As a kid who recently graduated from GrHs I would agree to the statement that LSD and heroin are both equally accessible in this town," Daniel James Dooner Jr. wrote in a Facebook thread.
"Recent graduate and I agree," added Emilie Gosselin.
"Plus, you never know what kind of dangerous chemicals are being put on blotter paper these days," wrote Will Wood. "[P]eople have died looking to try LSD and getting a new research chemical designed to circumvent the law."
