FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- For the past two years the borough has hosted a garage sale, but does not plan to do so this year, according to a story on northjersey.com.
During a recent work session, Mayor John Cosgrove and Councilmember Lisa Swain both said they have heard from some residents asking if the borough will be holding the garage sale this year, the story said.
Borough Manager Jim Van Kruiningen said the first reason not to hold the event concerns sign pollution. Borough employees spent a few days after the garage sale cleaning up signs residents did not remove, northjersey.com said.
The borough also heard from residents who complained they registered for the garage sale, but did not have many customers, northjersey.com said.
